Diane Duane is once again thinking of completing her "Door" series. […] It's a charming swords-and-sorcery series with very likable characters in a "everyone is bisexual" world. There are important gay, straight, lesbian, and poly romances. Also dragons, a snarky shapeshifting fire elemental, angst, a fascinating magic system, and a non-sappy Goddess. Warning for non-gratuitous and plot-important but fairly graphic rape flashback scene in book two.

They use PayPal to process their credit card orders. It looks to me like you need a PayPal account to get the free books.

I have one so I did the following: I added the free book to my cart. Hit the checkout button and then clicked not on the Checkout button, but the PayPal button below it. This took me to the sign in for PayPal, and when I clicked proceed at that point it took to me to a page that said I didn't need to do anything else to complete the purchase as it was free. I don't think there's a way to get to that step without going through the PayPal or Credit card via PayPal pages. I clicked a button and was emailed the download link for my book.

Which now I have to figure out what I have that read .epub, and I'll see if I like her books, so a worthwhile experiment all around.
