Free ebooks
I don't know for sure if this has been posted here, but in case it hasn't (or for distracted people like myself!), I'll post.
I found a blog that's all links to free ebooks - not pirated copies, but legit copies.
Books on the Knob
It seems like it's mostly paranormal romance, but I've found a book about B29 bombers, some mysteries... I think the paranormal focus is because that's what's popular right now.

1) Romance (not just paranormal, but mostly the small epublishers)
2) Christian inspirational/romance/nonfiction
3) Self-help (often self-published)
There's also a fair amount of self-published stuff of all stripes. Every now and then there will be some big publisher stuff, a handful of mysteries, the occasional fantasy/SF and YA, assorted nonfiction that isn't self-help. But the vast majority is romance, self-help, and Christian publishers.
The DISCOUNTED books are a much more varied assortment, and often include major publishers, well-known authors, and a higher percentage of non-romance genre fiction.
I have downloaded a lot of free books since I started following them, mostly the kind of books I'd never spend money on but which are decent for killing an hour or so. Every now and then a gem comes along. But I'm neither Christian nor a romance fan as such (I read romances, but I don't like them enough to spend money on them or collect them), so most of what they post that's FREE isn't strongly to my taste.

I read enough romance to be happy enough to find the occasional one I want (and in the first few days there were several, as the site was new to me), but I haven't found anything in the past couple of days.
I'm just pleased to have something showing me the cheap books. I don't mind spending money, but it's hard to find new authors.
I wish there were something for all the genres - a good review site or something. I like supporting indie writers but the good ones are hard to suss out.

I definitely wish there were a good review site for the self-published/small press ebooks--I'm fairly hesitant to even try a lot of it, since time is limited and at the very least I know most trad publishers have some semblance of editing applied to their books (although unfortunately with ebooks, proofreading is not guaranteed).
