And yes, you made perfect sense :) There's plain bad writing, and there's different tastes. Badly written books is something I don't want to waste my time on, but if something happens to not be to my taste, I'll generally finish it anyway once I've started, if the writing's done well. So good to know they don't seem to publish poor stuff.
