Smashwords is adding Kobo Plus
Smashwords is adding Kobo Plus, a subscription service similar to Amazon's, to the ways ebooks can be offered and read. Once it's activated, authors won't have the option to offer books only through Kobo but not through Kobo Plus. Later on this will change.
