Has anyone downloaded the Kindle for PC software? I guess my real question is will one be able to take the kindle formatted files and convert them in Calibre to whatever format you want to use?
I expect that books downloaded with it will mostly be DRM'd, and will need the Python scripts to un-DRM them before they can be Calibre'd. However, the ones that aren't DRM'd should just be .prc/.mobi ebooks with the Kindle extension (.azw), and those should go into Calibre nicely.
Topaz books are currently uncrackable, although that might change with a PC-based reading program. (At the very least, I'm sure someone will figure out how to screencap & convert them as images.)
