DRM Removal

I have found this program which removes DRM from epub files.  It has worked on everything that I have tried it on so far (only 2 files).  The demo requires you to shut down and restart for each file which is a hassle.  I haven't paid for the full version so I don't know what other options it may have.  The site has other programs for other ebook-related actions that I haven't yet tried.  If you've been looking for a way to remove the DRM from your ebooks, you may want to give this program a try.

ETA: This program is unfortunately only for Windows.

ETA2:  I completely missed that the demo version removed pages from the books when it removed the DRM.  I apologize for getting up people's hopes.

Looks like it only works on Windows (worth warning the Mac & Linux people about), and that's the standard ADE version; the Nook DRM for epub is different. (Nook uses your credit card number rather than registering a device on their servers; so far, none of the other devices support their DRM although Adobe's made it available.)

I'm surprised they can sell a DRM remover, although goodness knows there's a need for it. I have some files I can't even get onto my Touch to read.

I hadn't even noticed; wow! Yes, very weird.

No "contact us" info. The four navigation links on the bottoms of the pages don't go anywhere. The purchase link opens a Paypal thing that defaults to assuming the buyer is in Canada; no idea what that means.

DRM removal tools aren't illegal everywhere; just in the US, and maybe a few other places. (And even in the US, the tools aren't illegal; distribution is. You're allowed to make or acquire one and use it; you just can't share it. Very weird how the DMCA is set up.)

Yeah, the screenshots do make it seem easier than saving the python scripts to a folder. The first time setup is a bitch. And I don't think the average internet user is going to want to go through the hassle. I did download the program myself. :)

I'm not sure they can afford to be too open with contact details because I can already see a lawsuit in the works if this program becomes popular/widespread. but at the same time...people need something like this because the current method of cracking ebooks isn't exactly intuitive.

convenience is worth something. I just didn't think a site like that would last long before someone sent a notice telling them to remove the software.

okay that's not cool. They should have said that. Most trials and demos let users know the limitations of the trial version.

Thanks for the tip. I downloaded it; it says that the demo version leaves out some pages from converted books. Have you had any problems with that?
