I love my Sony but I'd be willing to trade up if there was something that offered what my Sony does but more. The more I'd want would be: Ability to mark a book as unread Web-browsing Download any format of ebook directly to device and be able to tag it appropriately so that I can sort it onto the right "shelf". Ability to move books from one "shelf" to another without having to synch it with my computer. (Oh, I want that now so badly.) Ability to sort books by publication date. Ability to read the book description meta-data on my ereader.
There is probably other stuff that I'd want and I'm not willing to give up anything but that's my current list based on what I've been wishing for lately.
FWIW, I use Aldiko for Android for my ebook reading, and I use their collections and tag functions to distinguish read and unread books. I find it works quite well. I can also read the meta-data and tag as I wish. :)
I like my big touchscreen but do wish that Sony had thought a little bit more about functionality for people who have really big libraries. My internal memory is 2 GB and I have 2 SD card slots. That's a lot of books to try to keep track of and I'm not even close to maxing out my internal memory.
