Fictionwise sale! And Sime~Gen ebooks!
Fictionwise has a 60% off coupon good through tomorrow (and sometimes, the coupons last an extra day or two): spring60off
It doesn't work on Samhain books and not on any of the Agency 6 publishers (although I don't know if FW even still has any of those; I don't buy DRM so I don't keep track of what's available). I picked up 39 Darkover short stories that I didn't already have for under $15. It's a good time to poke around for short stories.
Also: The Sime~Gen series has recently been released as ebooks! (Cue much cheering.) They're available at Amazon for Kindle & Fictionwise in multiformat. The important bits:
To Kiss or To Kill, about the Unity contract and the first few months of Tecton gov't. Noteworthy in that (1) some of us have been waiting several years for this book and (2) it's *not* about channels & companions, or householders; they're background characters.
The Story Untold and Other Sime~Gen Stories, roughly same time period, about Tonyo Logan and Zhag Paget, the musicians
Personal Recognizance, about Rialite channel training after the creation of selyn batteries and computer networks. With canonical fanfic.
PLZ TO IGNORE:
The numerical order assigned to the books. It won't ruin the series to read them in that order but it's not best. The three listed above (previously unpublished, except for some teasers on simegen.com) are best read in the order listed.
The book covers. I'm sure they could be more wrong, but not by much. They are so *awful* that I want to run a fanart fest/exchange/SOMETHING to create better covers to put on my ebook reader.
