Kind of an esoteric question

Hello. I'm new to this list and all. I have a Sony Reader PR-500. I love this reader but I have to admit if I thought I could afford it would I have gone with the PR-700. But I digress. I have the 500 series and I notice that Sony sells a cover with book light. I know it says it's only compatible with the PR-505, but has anyone ever tried using it with the PR-500? The best I can see is it would block the Prev/Next buttons that reside on the top left side of the reader. I would imagine the window with the light would almost work.

I guess what I could do is bring my 500 to my local Target that is selling these reading lights and see if I can talk them into letting me open a box and see if it would work. But I thought I would ask here first. It would be great if it really could work. But I do know the positioning of buttons and such changed between 500 and 505 (and frankly I like the positioning of the 500 better).

I believe the way the 500 and the 505 attach to the cover is different. I have a 505; I've heard the 500 attaches by a "button" of some sort in the center of the back? Or something like that?

The 505 has little indentations at the top & bottom outside of the spine (if it were a paper book, these would be in the actual pages, not in the cover) that the cover snaps into.

Very likely the shape & size is correct, but there'd be no way to "attach" it to the 500; you'd have to hold it in place. Some people use velcro to make custom ebook covers of various types; you might be able to do that, if you're willing to stick velcro on your Reader.
