BBC: OpenDyslexic font gains ground with help of Instapaper

"The font has also been built into a word processor, an ebook reader and has been installed on school computers."

I'm not dyslexic but I'm wondering what the community's thoughts are.

I am dyslexic and I kind of love that font. I actually don't care for it *aesthetically* but it does do something to keep my eyes moving straight down the letter/word and not twisting them up. How wild! After almost 30 years of trying every trick or tip that's come out (I still prefer to read books through a blue filter if I can get ahold of one... I keep losing mine), I've never seen that before. I think it's awesome. :)

I think this is great, and it's been shown to be effective. I don't have dyslexia, but I find it easier to read text in this type of font. And the commercial font is ridiculously expensive.

I kind of dig it all the way around. Both as someone who fiddles with fonts in photoshop and someone who spends a lot of time on my nook with a slight dylexia problem.

While I don't suffer from the version of dyslexia that causes letters to rotate, I do suffer from the version that has me transposing numbers all the time. This however gives me a massive headache. Makes my eyes itch.
