Sony e-readers are very good quality. I bought the Kindle in the end, but the choice was between Instant Books (Kindle) or Note Taking and Touch Screen (Sony) - *not* any sort of difference in quality or reliability.

I am really happy with my Sony although in a few years when browsers and 3G wireless support are standard, I'll be thinking about upgrading. :D
