Here's an article here on PC World:
http://www.pcworld.com/article/169644/amazon_kindle_vs_new_sony_readers_game_on.html
It compares the new Sony PRS-300 (which comes out this month) and the PRS-600 with the Kindle. My sister would like a reader and the PRS-300 would be up her alley but not mine... no sd slot? Only 440MB of space and that's it? Let's not forget an inch less screen real estate. The no wireless doesn't bother me because I don't need that, but still I think $199 is too much for what you get. If you charged that for the 600 model which has a touch screen and a stylus so you can made hand-written notes, I could see that.
Ah well... at least the ebook world keeps expanding.

SD card - I'm rarely very far from either of my computers. I've got my entire collection of ebooks and calibre on both of them so anything I want I've got in a few clicks. And once I've read something, I don't really need it on my ebook unless I'm rereading a series, so that doesn't bother me.
5 inch screen - I don't expect that to bother me. I've been reading on an ebookwise/GEB/REB1150 for years, so I'm kind of used to a smaller screen.
I've got a netbook, and a netbook touchscreen tablet on order. I really can't justify $300 or even $275-$250 for the 600, but the 300 is a possibility.
I'm thinking I might pick up one of the 300's.

Still loving my 500 though. ^__^

I think that if they fail to pitch the 5" screen as an *advantage* for those people who like it, rather than as the "lesser, mini version" of the 6" screen," it'll fail to capture enough market to last.
Of course, "to last" may not be their goal. The 505 has only been out for what, two years? And it's apparently being discontinued. The Sonystyle store is sold out of blue and silver, and the 700, and it looks like they're not being renewed.
I'm looking more at the Aztak Pocket Pro than the Sony, because while the Aztak doesn't have LRF support, it does have an SD card slot, which is rather more useful to me than use of a proprietary format.

But otherwise... yeah, the Pocket Pro looks better. I'm waiting for the first reviews to come in before I make any decisions.
