I've always wondered which sources people tend to turn to, including official channels, when looking for ebooks. Fictionwise has earned a firm place on my list, and I know of other stores like BooksOnBoard and so forth, but have never really tried them because of the hassle of setting up different accounts.

Where do you guys tend to buy? In your experience, where are the best places to buy from, esp. as regards DRM, activation, and all those niggling little customer service issues you can't really know until you lose a download or find that the book isn't working?

Hi my name is Lauren and I've had my Sony 505 for a couple of months now. I was working in a bookshop when I bought it (seduced by own sales patter). It is one of my favourite possessions especially as I am commuting long distances for an internship.

I've amassed a huge sci fi and fantasy collection, Chalet School books and a lot of the talked about books.

I'm gradually adding to my fanfic collection, putting them into documents and editing them no longer bothers me. I'm actually quite pleased to be able to see the results.

My nano2008 novel also lives on it which makes me proud and it is also very useful for reading to spot editing mistakes!
Anyone know who I can talk to so I can get a review Kindle for my site? I do reviews of print copies of metaphysical books (http://davensjournal.com), but if ebooks gain in popularity, some publishers may come up with ebooks of the same stuff. Thus having a review of a reading device might be a good thing to have.

I'd prefer a Kindle since I like what I see, several gig of storage, wireless and self contained. However if you want to suggest another device, I'm for it. But I would need to get one of them for free (please, please, please).
What would make you take a chance with an unknown small publisher to purchase directly from them? Formats available, no DRM, payment methods, what? (Yes, I have a reason why I'm asking, no I'm not going to share it right at this moment. *vbg*)
